Tile Depot sponsors Wycombe Tigers Youth FC

* Wycombe-Tigers_Tile-Depot.jpgIndependent tile, stone and wood retailer Tile Depot, has helped brand new football team, Wycombe Tigers Youth FC, set up with sponsorship secured for its very first season.

With stores across London and the South East including branches in High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Watford and Slough, Tile Depot is ideally placed to back the team, which has been accepted for entry into South Bucks Youth League for the 2011/12 season.

There are currently 19 players in the squad, all aged between 16 and 18 and all attend the highly regarded The Royal Grammar School High Wycombe. The team was initiated by three of the School's boarders - Ed Henderson, Will Rygalski and Alex Ford, all 17, who opened the idea to other friends and boarders in their year and year below to assemble the squad, which is made up of 12 boarders and seven 'day boys' with Ed as chairman and treasurer and Will as club secretary as well as fellow student, Max Neal, taking the role as team manager.

Wycombe Tigers Youth FC joins 44 other teams in the South Bucks Youth League and starts in Division 3, with its first match to be played at its home ground at Hazlemere Recreation Ground in High Wycombe against Prestwood Colts Youth FC, kicking off at 14.00 this coming Sunday.

This debut will also unveil the Wycombe Tigers Youth FC home strip in bright orange and its first away match, to be played against Aylesbury Town Youth FC with a 10:30 kick-off a week later on 11th September, will reveal its away strip in dazzling pink - each emblazoned with the Tile Depot logo across the front.

Away matches will be played all over Buckinghamshire, and the determined youngsters haven't stopped there; Wycombe Tigers Youth FC will also play in the League Cup and the Berks & Bucks Cup, the first round of which will take place on Sunday 18th September when the Tigers take on Widmer End United Juniors.

Ed Henderson, chairman and treasurer of Wycombe Tigers Youth FC, says: "This is the last 12 months we'll spend together as we're all hoping to head off to university at the end of next year, so setting up the team is about spending time together as well as staying fit and playing more of the game we all love.

"We plan to have a good time on and off the pitch but training hard to win more games than we lose, and to get as far as we can in the League and the League and County Cups are also on the agenda.

"We're extremely grateful to Tile Depot for its sponsorship, which has helped us get the team started with 34 kits as well as match balls, training and first aid equipment. At the end of the season, we plan to hand the club down onto members of the year below us, who we hope will continue it into the 2012/13 season with Tile Depot's sponsorship.

"We'd also like to start teams at different age groups for younger years at the school but first, we're all looking forward to kicking off the season. We're all training hard and hope to build a fair fan base as the season progresses."

In addition to sponsoring the team, Tile Depot is also offering an extra 10% discount off of its already guaranteed lowest prices to friends and family of the club. Wycombe Tigers Youth FC uses Facebook and its web site for constant contact with its players and friends.

Tile Depot stocks a massive selection of ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles as well as mosaics and borders, wooden flooring, grouts, tools and accessories. David Williams, manager of the High Wycombe store, says: "It's great that Tile Depot is supporting a local football team. Pretty much everyone who works here is a fan of the sport and I'm sure that some of us will attend a few of their games to cheer them on."

David Fitzgerald, operations director, adds: "We're delighted to have helped get the team off the ground. We're all rooting for the Tigers and wish them the very best for the season."

The whole shopping experience is easy at Tile Depot with professional staff to offer expert advice, the retailers' useful 'Loan a Tile' and 'Buy Back Unused Tiles' services and in-store 'lifestyle' displays to help customers visualise their finished rooms, demonstrating what can be achieved by using combinations of tiles in different sizes and colours with mosaics, borders, trims and decorative tiles for various effects.
