Amica set to bring Red Dot winning oven to UK... if market wants it!

The Red Dot Best of The Best oven, Zen, from Amica, is being considered for the UK market following IFA, Berlin. But the company would like input from the UK kitchen and electrical retailers on its unusual qualities.

Amica Zen pictured here is an environmentally sound, technically advanced oven conceived for consumers searching for tranquillity and simplicity in their homes. The Zen is the antithesis of overwhelming technology. No illumination, alarms, ringtones or buzzing timers - nothing to attack the senses. Whilst it offers the best of Amica cooking features like multifunction cooking, it does not have a clock or a timer. The glass door is matt, non-reflective and the handle a smooth tactile choice of Birch, Ebony or Oak - both features add to its discrete presence.

Amica UK's country manager, Simon Freear, says: "The response at the IFA, Berlin exhibition was compelling and interest was certainly there. We are eager to get a better feel as to whether retailers and consumers are ready to embrace what amounts to the polar-opposite, to what's available across the market currently."
