Bushboard unleashes potential of quartz worksurfaces with pioneering M-Stone range

* Bushboard-M-stone-quartz-white.jpgFollowing its preview to the trade at KBB 2012, Bushboard is launching in mid-November its pioneering new M-Stone quartz worksurfaces which are supplied in blanks for easy installation direct on site.

With market-leading laminate and solid surface brands under its belt, Bushboard is extending its offer with a man-made quartz worksurface brand, titled M-Stone, enabling it compete in the granite sector for the first time.

More than 18 months in development, M-Stone features a secret, patent-pending blend of acrylic and quartz which gives the product the advantage of fast and easy on-site installation, overturning the traditional template-fabricate-fit route of other brands and offering significant cost savings. The company estimates that it can be supplied and installed at 30-40% below the major brands operating in the quartz sector.

"M-Stone will do for quartz worksurfaces what our Encore range did for solid surface... in effect revolutionise the market with a competitive product that is supplied and fitted on site, reducing lead times and costs all round and maximising opportunities for both retailers and installers," says Stuart White, managing director:

M-Stone quartz material is available in a solid 25mm thickness for worktops and breakfast bars with upstands and splashbacks in 12mm. Worktops are available in 3050 x 650mm and 2100 x 900mm, upstands in 3050 x 100mm and the splashback is 1200 x 1310mm.

Drawing on the company's knowledge of worktop trends and consumer demand, M-Stone will be launched in the four top selling colours of black, brown, white and cream with the black option featuring delicate metallic particles which mirror the lustre and luxuriousness associated with natural granite.

Independent test results published by CERAM, a subsidiary of British Ceramic Research, showed M-Stone to have excellent results for hardness matching the performance of the established brands currently on the market.

Bushboard's M-Stone differentiates itself in this sector however from other brands by being a product that installers can cut, joint and fit on site. The company has developed two specialist tooling kits for the fitter. There is a Standard Kit which enables straight runs, joints, L shapes and inset sink. Complementing this is a Router Kit for shaping corners and fitting undermount or Belfast sinks complete with drainer grooves.

Bushboard runs free training days weekly at its Wellingborough headquarters where retailers and installers can learn the skills needed for a professional installation of M-Stone and any other of the company's products.

Says Stuart White:

"M-Stone opens up significant opportunities for retailers and installers to provide affordable solutions in the granite sector and broaden their earnings potential. We have taken every care to develop a fitter-friendly product which the trade can have total confidence in. The genie is out of the bottle now with M-Stone."

M-Stone is offered on a combined display stand the with Encore solid surface range, complete with large sample blocks and literature. Retailers already displaying Encore will automatically receive a merchandised box allowing them to easily update their stand with the new M-Stone product. In addition there will be a sample presentation case for countertop display.

There will be an extensive marketing campaign to support the launch of the brand including direct mail, e-shots, advertising and PR.
