Shard's luxury Shangri-la Hotel exclusively tiled with BAL

BAL adhesives, grouts and levellers have been specified throughout the Shangri-La, the five-star hotel which will occupy floors 34 to 52 of The Shard, the striking new 1,016-feet skyscraper towering over London. More than 10,000 square metres of tiling will be fixed exclusively with BAL products.

Much of the tiling for both walls and floors will be marble specially imported from China. It will be used in every one of the 170 bedrooms and 25 suites, including the Presidential Suite, which all feature underfloor heating. It will also be used in the public areas, including reception, spa and indoor infinity swimming pool.

In addition to this luxury tiling, BAL products are also specified for the back-of-house tiling, including toilets and kitchens.

The Shangri-La is due for completion in 2013.
