DIY accolade for CornerTape's SiliconeXP - two in one sealant adhesive award win

CornerTape's SiliconeXP, the Xtreme Performance two-in-one waterproof sealant and super strong adhesive, has been crowned Decorating Product of the Year in the DIY Week Awards 2012.

DIY Week magazine has been around for more than 130 years and has been organising awards events since the 1960's in recognition of the top products and retailers in the field. The 2012 DIY Week Awards ceremony took place late last year and the team from CornerTape was thrilled to learn that the new SiliconeXP had won the Gold Award for Decorating Product of the Year, within just three months of its launch in the UK.

SiliconeXP - available in black and white and SiliconeXC, the clear version - was developed by CornerTape to be used not only as a flexible, durable sealant in bathrooms, kitchens and other applications but also instead of screws, nails and other fixings to bond an array of common home maintenance and building materials including bricks, plastics, timber, MDF, plaster, stone and glass.

Waterproof, anti-mould, flexible and paintable, SIliconeXP is odourless for safe use in confined spaces and comes in a clear tube with CornerTape's revolutionary Anti-Drip Valve and Pre-Cut Nozzle System for less mess, less waste and to produce beads in a choice of four sizes.

The judges, who included directors of some of the biggest trade centres in the UK as well as the British Home Enhancement Trade Association, said: "We loved the innovative nozzle system on this product and the clear tube that allows you to see the colour of the sealant and how much is left. Simple, yet effective!"

Andy Toyne, sales director at CornerTape, said: "We're thrilled that SiliconeXP has been recognised as one of the best products in the industry with the Gold Award win, particularly so soon after its launch. It was up against an array of other products in its category and joins products from top brands such as Black & Decker and Bissell as Gold Award winners. We're absolutely delighted."
