Rugby League legend cooks up a celebration at GDHA
Rugby League fans at Glen Dimplex Homes Appliances (GDHA) were thrilled when St Helens star Keiron Cunningham dropped in to mark the first of a new range of products leaving the production line in the company's UK headquarters.
As part of GDHA's ongoing commitment to its 'Made in Britain' policy, the new Stoves built-in collection of ovens and hobs is being manufactured in Prescot, Merseyside.
And in the week that Keiron made his final playing appearance for St Helens, after 17 years with the club, he found time to pop in to meet the GDHA team.
Keiron, who was recently named as St Helen's greatest ever player and had a statue unveiled in his honour, spent time chatting to fans around the factory and offices and was given a tour of the company's showroom as well.
He said: "It is great to be able to thank some of the fans for their support in person and I'm also really pleased to see Glen Dimplex Home Appliances continuing its commitment to the area."
Denver Hewlett, CEO of GDHA, said: "Keiron is a real local hero and it is a privilege to welcome him to our headquarters as we are also very proud of our role in the community here. His visit has certainly given our staff a boost and we wish him well for the future."
