Get into the groove...

* Karonia 2.jpgWhat better way to show the true potential and versatility of your range of solid surfaces than use them to build into your stand a concept kitchen and tables incorporating just about every angle, curve and groove you can think of?

That's exactly what Karonia did at kbb with its Mistral products & I have to admit that John and I were continually distracted from our conversation with the stand team because we kept discovering new configurations and saying to one another: "Have you seen this?" at which point we would both run our hands over it and ask: "How on earth did they do that?"

Take the 'Anise' surface for example, which was cleverly shaped as a slice of Star Anise to reflect its name while displaying how finely and precisely the product can be cut. Luckily the surfaces didn't show up any fingerprints...

As well as examining these groundbreaking displays of Mistral 25mm solid surfacing, we were able to examine three exciting new additions to the range, bringing the total number of colours to 20.

Available from April 2014, the new colours are:

Anise - a hint of the exotic on a canvas of natural tones with clear particles for depth and a dash of sparkle for an elegant finish.
Prism - a background wash of light grey brought to life with vibrant elements of blue, green, red and more.
Orka - a dramatic, monochrome effect created by a warm white base with an array of black chips.

Andrew Pickup, director, pictured here on the left in the concept kitchen together with Ian Woollard from Woollards of Mildenhall who made the concept kitchen: "These exciting new finishes invite designers to create bold colour schemes by using them as strong statement pieces or indeed as a complement to interesting door and fascia combinations.

"The ease and practicality of working with Mistral and the expansion of Karonia's customer support programme have been key to the growth in its popularity. Installers now have a product that is straightforward and efficient to install but also allows them to show their precision skills and attention to detail. Many of them are visiting the stand to meet the support team to discuss ideas and view Karonia's dedicated tooling."

This year's exhibition also saw the launch of a brand new Mistral brochure. Karonia firmly believes 'seeing is believing' and the brochure uses real-life installations to demonstrate the tremendous scope for imaginative design offered by this versatile product.
