Croydex marathon team begins WaterAid fundraising campaign

* Croydex-Marathon-finish.jpgBathroom accessories specialist, Croydex, is celebrating marathon success this week - after its team of three runners completed the Brighton event for global charity, WaterAid.

Commercial director, Jon Langford; export sales manager, Jason Newman; and business development director, Julian Williams, completed the course, raising £5600 in the process.

"Here in Britain, we tend to take water for granted, yet around one in seven of the world's population does not have access to safe water and 2.8 billion people do not have access to a decent toilet," says Jon Langford.

"With the bathroom accounting for more than 60% of water used in the home, we are committed to helping people cut down on the amount they use but we also believe we have a wider responsibility to help communities across the world suffering from a lack of water and sanitation. That is why we are supporting WaterAid throughout 2014.

"The marathon was a great team effort. Most importantly, we raised money to help make a profound difference to the lives of people who are otherwise deprived of something as simple as safe drinking water.

"A huge thank you to all those who have so generously donated to this cause."

The latest fundraising effort follows a four day treadmill challenge by the team at the recent KBB exhibition in Birmingham.

BMA chief executive and Water Label director, Yvonne Orgill, adds: "In Britain the Water Label is helping people save water and conserve natural resources so it is entirely appropriate that we throw our support behind this campaign to help WaterAid transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities."
