Lec launches new 55cm water dispensing products to answer consumer demand

* LEC-water-dispenser-roomset.jpgRefrigeration specialist Lec has launched a range of new 55cm products in response to consumer demand, including its first appliance to feature a water dispenser.

The TS55174WTD is a 1.7m tall static fridge freezer with a water-through-door dispenser that does not require plumbing.

A water reservoir is fitted inside the door meaning the user does not lose valuable fridge shelf space. Available in white, black and silver, the model has 177 litre net fridge capacity, with three safety glass shelves, four door storage compartments and is A+ energy rated.

The 4* freezer has three spacious drawers and a shelf and the appliance features reversible doors and recessed handles.

Also in the 55cm sector Lec has launched the 1.8m tall TS55184, which is a fridge freezer with a five large freezer drawers - making it ideal for student accommodation and shared housing.

Available in white, the A+ energy rated appliance is split 50/50 between fridge and freezer, with a 147 litre net fridge capacity. The fridge has a bottle shelf and three glass shelves plus door storage and a salad drawer.

Ben Peach, Product Manager for Lec, says: "The last few years have been fairly flat for the refrigeration market and so, as a manufacturer, when we see trends and demand developing in certain sectors it is important to react. The 55cm static market is a growth area and the water dispenser market has continued to expand, representing more than 200,000 sales per year, so it was important that Lec serviced this demand.

"In shared and student accommodation the fridge and freezer can be areas of conflict with tenants wanting their individual space and we believe our new TS55184 will help to address these issues!"
