Abode invests in apprenticeships
Having been an employer of local people in and around the Barnsley area for many years, Abode is committed to giving something back to the community by working with the National Apprentice Service and First for Apprenticeships Barnsley.
Two new employees on apprenticeship schemes have recently joined Abode following the company's first apprentice, Regan Goddard who was appointed last year. Regan is now working hard towards gaining nationally recognised qualifications in Customer Service and Warehousing and has already successfully completed the first of several training modules, supported by Brinsworth Training College in Barnsley. Since joining Abode he has already gained formal qualifications in forklift and flexi-truck driving.
The new recruits, Abbie Wilkinson and Ellie McCall are working in the Abode Sales Office and are following courses in Business Administration. Both new recruits are tutored by Brinsworth and will, no doubt, become familiar voices to customers who telephone the busy offices in Barnsley.
"We are delighted to be working with the National Apprentice Service and First for Apprenticeships Barnsley," enthuses Darren Holliday, managing director of Abode. "Providing apprenticeship roles is a fantastic opportunity to invest in local individuals who are looking for opportunities within businesses whereby they can start their professional careers. As our business grows it's a good time for these youngsters to grow with us and gain experience."
