Smeg collaborates with innovative pop-up 'London in the Sky'

* smeg-under-London-sky.jpgSmeg is known for its collaborations with top architects and designers, but its latest venture, teaming up with open-air, pop-up restaurant London in the Sky, has reached new heights of style... 100 feet to be exact!

The design-led manufacturer is a brand partner with London in the Sky and is supplying the pop-up restaurant and its Michelin-starred chefs with a variety of cookers and fridge-freezers, to help them recreate their signature menus and dining experiences in the skies over the capital. The chosen products include: three FQ55FX fridge-freezers, two of the brand's famous retro-style FAB fridge-freezers in black and an A1PYID-7 Opera ranger cooker, which features an induction hob - making it perfect for such a tight, confined space!

The restaurant seats 22 guests, who are securely fastened in before the platform raises 100 feet into the air and the gourmet experience begins, with the food prepared and served in front of diners at the centre of the table. Guests can dine in the sky for breakfast, at lunchtime or for dinner, with Champagne Taittinger and canape?s for afternoon flights, as well as those in the evening, when diners can take in the spectacular night-time city views.
John Davies, Brand Manager at Smeg UK says:

"Being an Italian brand, one of Smeg's biggest passions is for good food and with the impressive line-up of Michelin-starred chefs, that's what London in the Sky is all about.

"When we first heard about a pop-up restaurant in the sky we felt this was such an exciting concept and couldn't wait to be a part of it. We love teaming up with other innovative brands to do inventive new things and felt like this was an opportunity to be part of something special. We hope the expert team of chefs enjoy using the Smeg appliances to create culinary masterpieces in the sky."

London in the Sky will take place at Canary Wharf, Wood Wharf Business Park, 100 Preston's Road, London, E14 9SB from the 12th to the 21st September 2014. Prices range from £75 to £200 per head per sitting. For more information and to buy tickets, visit www.eventsinthesky.co.uk
