Liebherr scoops six awards in world's largest technology competition!
Refrigeration expert, Liebherr, manufacturer of some of the world's most covetable refrigeration products, has been hugely successful in the 2010 Plus X awards, with several fridges and freezers scooping six awards in total.
The Plus X Award panel is made up of 144 experts from around the world and the 'Best Product of the Year 2010' seal is awarded for outstanding achievement. Thanks to innovative ideas, high quality and great design, both the CBNes 5167 combination fridge / freezer and the CBNes 6256 French door combination fridge / freezer won 'Best Product of the Year 2010'.
The Plus X Award for 'High Quality and Design' went to the CBNes 3976 combination fridge / freezer. The elegant stainless steel appliance incorporates innovative electronics with touch control features and clear menu navigation. Kept at a temperature of just above 0°C, the two BioFresh compartments extend on telescopic rails and provide different setting options; one with low humidity which is ideal for storing meat, fish and dairy products and one with high humidity for fruit and vegetables. The icemaker with water tank provides top quality ice cubes at the touch of a button.
The Plus X Award for 'High Quality, Design and Ecology' was won by the KBes 3864 BioFresh fridge. The MagicEye control system combined with optimised components ensures low energy consumption, earning the fridge its place in the A++ energy efficiency class.
The CBNes 5167 combined fridge / freezer received the Plus X Award for 'High Quality, Design, Ecology and Ease of Use' and 'Best Product of the Year 2010' title. This combined BioFresh appliance in elegant stainless steel incorporates innovative electronics with touch control feature and clear menu navigation. The integrated HomeDialog system allows as many as six other Liebherr appliances to be networked. The SoftSystem cushions movement as the door is closed and ensures gentle closing even when the inside of the door is fully stocked.
The two LED light columns on either side of the compartment liner ensure uniform illumination throughout the interior, while the BioFresh-Plus technology facilitates an accurate setting of three different temperatures. At a temperature of 0°C, meat, dairy products, fruit and vegetables can be stored up to three times longer than in a traditional refrigerator compartment. Fish and seafood can be kept fresh best at 2°C, while the ideal storage temperature for exotic fruits is +6°C. The NoFrost freezer compartment incorporates an automatic, plumbed-in IceMaker.
Liebherr's CBNes 6256 French door combination fridge / freezer received the Plus X Award for 'High Quality, Design and Ease of Use' and 'Best Product of the Year 2010' title in the category of side-by-side combined fridge-freezers. The French door concept with two independently opening refrigerator doors combined with two extending freezer drawers creates a stunning visual impact in any kitchen environment, even before the doors are opened. They then reveal harmoniously coordinated design elements such as GlassLine shelves and racks with solid aluminium trims.
The high-quality interior uses innovative LED lighting technology. In the refrigerator compartment two LED light columns are combined with flush-fitted lighting in the ceiling area. The BioFresh compartments are lit by additional LED spot lights to give an ideal view of the food stored inside. As the two extending freezer drawers are opened, integrated LED spot lights are switched on to give perfect vision of the frozen food.
The elegant, precision MagicEye system with the innovative, convenient touch control feature is user-friendly and ensures the selected temperature is kept to the exact degree. All the functions, such as SuperCool, SuperFrost or temperature, can be simply operated at the touch of a finger on the electronic panel.
The two self-retracting freezer drawers mounted on high-quality telescopic rails have NoFrost technology, making defrosting a thing of the past. The appliance also has a plumbed-in IceMaker.
