Magnet Trade ready to reward Community Champions

Magnet Trade, has just launched Magnet Trade 'Community Champions', a campaign that will see hero community causes across the UK rewarded with cash prizes.

Nominated causes will be asked to describe what makes them a 'Magnet of the community', with £10,000 split between the 10 most worthy causes based on a public vote, and an additional £1,000 awarded to the public's overall national favourite.

Builder, baker (...not candlestick maker!) and Bake Off star, Richard Burr, is the face of the campaign, so the overall winner can also expect a visit from him bearing a very special Community Champions cake!

Magnet Trade is seeking help to find the best local causes from communities across Britain, and inviting nominations at community.magnettrade.co.uk before 31st January... Maybe it's a local youth football club or community centre, whichever local hero acts as a magnet in your community. Magnet Trade will then pick the most popular causes to represent each of its 179 trade stores, before the public vote commences in March.

"We've seen an increase in our staff taking up charity and community challenges in order to raise money for good causes," explains Alison Coleman, marketing manager. "So, Community Champions is our way of acknowledging the efforts of our staff and rewarding unsung heroes in the communities in which they work and live.

"Britain is an extremely generous nation when it comes to fundraising for others, so we're delighted about being able to give a helping

hand to worthy local community causes, especially as these will be selected and voted for by both our trade customers and members of the public."
