Search begins for Screwfix's Trade Apprentice 2015
Screwfix, the multi-channel retailer, is launching its first competition to find and reward the best trade apprentice in the UK.
Brilliant budding builders and the next generation of electricians and plumbers can all enter the competition for the chance to win a trade business pack worth £10,000 containing everything they need to set up on their own.
Apprentices who have passed their course with excellent results, already offer great customer service and have a keen interest in building their own business, can all enter - with finalists from around the UK going head to head, at Google HQ, to be named the best in Britain.
This year's winner will receive a brilliant business pack including a Google Nexus smart phone and tablet and a top of the range laptop, as well as £3,500 worth of Screwfix products and up to £4,000 to spend on training courses to further enhance their career. They will also wear the crown of the nation's No 1 Apprentice - standing head and shoulders above their competitors.
"As a key supplier to the trade we believe it's vital that we recognise and reward the future tradesmen across the UK as they really are the foundation of any community, ensuring homes and businesses are fit for purpose," says John Mewett, marketing director at Screwfix. "This competition has been created to give young apprentices a first step on the ladder in their career and give them the tools to help them to build a successful business."
Entries should be submitted without delay, as finalists will be going head to head at the national final in June. The overall winner will be named the Trade Apprentice of 2015.
