Appliance retailers' awakening awareness of alternative brands' attributes affirmed at CIH Showcase
Simon Freear, Country Manager for Amica in the UK and Ireland, is confident about the freestanding and built-in appliance market following the company's huge success at the recent Euronics Showcase at Birmingham's NEC.
"It's wonderful to talk to so many appliance retailers that are so optimistic about the future," he enthuses. "Finally, we are seeing retailers, previously only committed to the major older brands, actually hunting out alternative brands... Brands with products they can shape their future businesses around."
Over 400 specialist appliance retailers visited a striking, 'hot, cold, wet' themed 80sq.etre Amica stand. The company, which dramatically increased its investment at this year's showcase to CIH Euronics' independent electrical appliance retailers launched a new line up of double cavity cooking (Amica already has impressive market share for single cavity freestanding cooking), alongside a revamped built-in collection which includes stunning gas-on-glass hobs, high power flexizone induction hobs, new built in compacts and soft close LCD-controlled ovens.
"The CIH Showcase was the first chance we had to show off a good proportion of our new range of products for the built-in retail market, we've plugged some gaps we had in the range and received some terrific feedback. CIH retailers are embracing the opportunities for built-in and Amica gives them a protected brand and the reassurance of a two year guarantee."
