Eco-friendly and a great base for futuristic design!
There were two stands that really impressed me and Wedi Systems UK was one of them. The leaflet states: 'Wedi is more than just building boards -Wedi is a building system,' and you just have to look at what this system can be used for to realise that it is indeed a remarkable product.
Wedi building boards have been developed over the last 25 years and are now being used for bathroom architecture and fashioning wellness worlds, having been adapted from their original use in wall and floor construction.
The boards are lightweight, offer high insulation and are impermeable; allowing them to be adapted to many uses, from dream showers with steam ouses, to walk-in wet rooms, sun beds and saunas and even cosy wellness environments with heated benches and freestanding showers, washbasins and bathtubs.
Premium building boards by Wedi are designed for ceilings and walls, in living and wet areas and act as an immediate base for all surfaces, including wallpaper, fine mosaic and direct application of paint and textured coating.
The board is made from a superior quality, tailor made IBFWE rigid
polystyrene foam, that is HCFC free and also has a minimal Global Warming Potential of one (GWP1). This exceeds the requirements of the 'Code for sustainable Homes' by a long way, which requires walls and floors to have a GWP rating of five or less.
The company's Leo Aspden explained: "The message that we want to get out is what you can do with it," - and once I had left the stand and was swamped by the crowds of people swarming around, I could not stop thinking about this remarkable concept... A world of Wedi flexibility and a perfectly eco-friendly solution - that is backed up by a 5-year warranty. Wow!
