Welcome to the
Am I the only one that struggles to find the business cards I know I should have, when I'm tying everything up following an exhibition? I try to be careful but get so caught up in the conversation, that I'm never consistent with where in my bag I put people's cards and I sometimes find myself trying to give out cards that aren't mine at all, but which I've been given by someone I've met previously. Mostly we notice in time but I've reached the conclusion that I was so excited about getting around to see all the exhibits at last week's KBB Birmingham, that someone I spoke with is wondering when exactly they met the gentleman from Wilsonart (whose name - along with his card - escapes me) who I just happened to accost on the bus, since he was carrying Wilsonart brochures!
I think I'm going to invest in jackets with pockets, since my colleague John never seems to have a problem and I'm assuming follows the 'into the left pocket and out from the right' process or something similar.
It probably goes without saying that the show was, as usual, brilliant - and not only from a business point of view but because, when you think about it, we're all consumers too and I'm sure I'm not the only one now suffering from a severe bout of the 'I wants'. Indeed, there was so much which excited us about the show that the first part of our review has been held over from Friday, so we could get as much in as possible (and, I hasten to add, not because I couldn't find everyone's business cards)! Happy reading, and we'll be back on Friday with the second part of our review.
