Pando / The Lightworks

* Pando-1.jpg"That's an unusual light," remarked John. I agreed, until on closer examination I realised it was a cooker hood! And once we'd been drawn onto the stand we couldn't help notice that it was full of unusual cooker hoods and lights. Talk about statement pieces!

Our favourite cooker hood was the aptly named Cobra (pictured in the background below) as it looks as if it's a cobra drawn back and ready to strike.

* Pando-Cobra.jpg"This is the new Corian cooker hood engineered and made by Pando, presented here by The Lightworks, the exclusive Pando distributor in the UK," explained Pando's Export Manager I-aki Iturbe, who had come all the way from Spain to attend the show. "This is a prototype of what will be a high end model, but the finished version will be available in any Corian finish and will be manufactured to the highest specifications.

* TLW-hood.jpgThe Pando Island Hood I-1300, which had first attracted our attention, is a real masterpiece.

Available in stainless steel or enamelled aluminium in your choice of colour, it incorporates a sophisticated, latest generation SEC extraction system, with a 1150v serial motor and a 950v internal motor.

It has 16 high intensity, low energy LED lamps on two different levels, providing either lighting over the cooker from the lower bank or ambient lighting from the upper bank and these lights and all the other modes can be set via the remote control. There is also an electronic control panel with last-time function and an automatic filter saturation detection system.
