Lewisham merchant has a 'Year of Beer' on Inta

Lewisham-based builders' merchant H E Olby is raising a toast this Christmas, after winning anti-scald bathroom manufacturer Inta's popular Year of Beer competition.

Inta launched the competition to its stockists in the Summer and was inundated with entries from merchants across the UK.

H E Olby was picked in a lucky dip draw at Inta's Staffordshire headquarters last week and was presented with the highly coveted prize at its Lewisham store.

Mark Spiers, manager at H E Olby, said: "What a fantastic competition! Entering was a no-brainer, but we didn't think we'd win as we knew we'd be up against many other merchants for this one.

"As tempting as it is to keep the win under wraps, we'll be sharing the beer with our hardworking staff and will be sure to raise a glass to Inta in thanks. We pride ourselves on stocking quality products and Inta's offering certainly fits the bill."

Mark Barrett, Inta sales representative for the South East, said: "A year of beer is every man's dream so we weren't at all surprised by the vast amount of merchant interest.

"There's been some healthy competition between the sales team at Inta as to whose customer would scoop the prize so I'm feeling quite smug that it surfaced in my sales region."

Please note: This merchant competition provides a year's worth of beer based on the guideline maximum daily alcohol consumption for an adult male, equivalent to 12 cans of 4% lager per week. The competition winner will therefore receive 624 cans of lager. Please drink responsibly.
