Crosswater invests in its delivery fleet: clear signs of success reflected in further £250k transport investment
Crosswater Holdings, which comprises Crosswater bathroom taps and showers, Simpsons wet room and enclosures and Bauhaus bathroom furniture, has increased its fully-owned and operated delivery fleet to 25 purpose-built and environmentally friendly delivery vehicles. The company has added a further 10 brand new Mercedes Sprinter vans and five new DAF LF 45 7.5 ton trucks to the liveried 'It's all about you' Crosswater fleet to underpin its reputation for timely, complete deliveries.
Each of the new vehicles has on-board camera as an aide to reversing. The Mercedes Sprinters, which carry up to 1000kg, incorporate blue efficiency for the lowest Co2 emissions as well as fuel-saving stop-star technology. Each DAF 7.5 ton truck can carry up to 2200kg, and has the very latest Enhanced Environmentally friendly Vehicles (EEV) engine coupled with 160bhp and six-speed gearboxes to maximize fuel use and limit Co2 emissions.
Crosswater has built a specialist business responding quickly to the needs of bathroom retailers and contract customers. It delivers throughout the UK via a mixture of day and night-away routes scheduled with the assistance of DPS planning software, Tom Tom Webfleet satellite navigation and real-time telematics.
Brett Westbrook, Transport Manager for Crosswater Holdings says: "Owning and planning our own deliveries has been a core part of the success of the Crosswater business. It means we are in control at all times. Our customers benefit from prompt-from-stock service from vehicles purpose built for the job. This means we deliver with no damages, complete and on time."
