More new recruits at Silverdale Bathrooms
UK ceramic bathroom manufacturer Silverdale, has recruited another five production operatives at its factory in Newcastle Under Lyme in Staffordshire. This has grown the total workforce from 48, at the time of the buy-out in December 2011, to 63 and that excludes the seven UK Sales agents, who are an important part of this new team.
These latest recruits join Silverdale with a real mix of experience - from Ken Berrisford, with 33 years' experience in ceramic production with a number of leading brands and Steve Cummings who had previously worked at Twyfords for eight years, to Kyle Timmis who has joined the company after six years in the army. Silverdale has started a new apprentice scheme to ensure this established and extremely skilful craft is continued. John Freitas was the first to join this new scheme.
Silverdale manufactures vitrified china and fine fireclay basins, bidets and wc pans at its factory in Newcastle Under Lyme, which are marketed under the B C Sanitan, Jacuzzi and Silverdale brands and are sold through independent bathroom specialists nationwide. The company has a great reputation for the quality of product it produces all are still hand crafted, allowing for unsurpassed flexibility in the design.
Jeremy Hyde, Production manager at Silverdale says of the recruitment: "I have wanted to start an apprentice scheme at Silverdale for many years and I am delighted to now be in a position to start one. This addition of some really experienced individuals will certainly help the process."
