British Ceramic Tile brings the outdoors in with its new high definition (HD) slate collection

* BCT-Slate.jpgBritish Ceramic Tile's new high definition (HD) slate collection effortlessly fuses together the real look of slate with the added benefits of a ceramic tile.

Launched to tap into the current design movement for organic materials and textures that typify the modern utility trend that has swept through our homes, HD slate is easy to install, hard-wearing, waterproof and requires no special sealing or maintenance unlike natural stone.

Rustic by design, but practical by nature, the collection is incredibly versatile and brings a strong, textural quality to walls and floors, seamlessly recreating a rustic slate-effect from floor to ceiling.

Available in four neutral shades of oyster, beige, grey and black, the range offers a plain slate-effect wall tile in a 25 x 50cm size, together with a split-face mosaic effect decor in 25 x 50cm. Designed to add a whole new dimension to walls, the split-face mosaic can be used in wet areas such as the bathroom or kitchen as a feature wall or splashback, bringing an urban, rugged look to an interior design scheme. A coordinating floor tile in a large format 50 x 50cm size also forms a key part of the range.

"Our new HD slate collection has been launched to the retail market in order to reflect popular consumer demand for open plan living and using natural, organic materials throughout the home," reveals Jayne Adamson, senior product manager at British Ceramic Tile.

"Slate, in particular, has seen somewhat of a renaissance and has become a style-led choice of wall and floor coverings in homes but it is renowned for being cold underfoot and an expensive material to buy and install.

"However, with the launch our new HD slate collection, retailers can now offer homeowners the opportunity to reproduce the natural look and feel of slate in their home without any of the negatives associated with traditional slate flooring."

The launch of the range will be supported by a new HD specific display stand, showcasing the full HD range, available to retailers nationwide.
