Miele crowned Which? Home Appliance Brand of the Year 2016 with "unparalleled" results For the second consecutive year, the German premium domestic appliance manufacturer, Miele, has been crowned Home Appliance Brand of the Year at the prestigious Which? Awards. Now in their 10th year, the awards recognise and celebrate the best businesses that deliver innovation, excellent products and service that score highly in Which? research and testing. Jess O'Leary, Which? home appliances expert commented: "Miele's strike rate in our testing is unparalleled - 91% of all appliances we've tested are either a Best Buy or Worth a Look." Kitchen entrepreneur shortlisted for coveted interiors award AEG is delighted that one of its premier partners has been shortlisted for a prestigious award. Glasgow-based Silver Birch Interiors has been shortlisted for the Scottish Home Improvement Awards 2016 in the category 'Best Kitchen Company'. After taking the plunge into self-employment in 2007, young entrepreneur, Alan MacGregor, grafted in the kitchen industry for eight years before setting up his first business in 2012. Next125 wins two Red Dot design awards for contemporary kitchen design The jury of the Red Dot Design Awards were so impressed with the high quality of design in the next125 collection, that they awarded the 'Red Dot Winner' label to two products. Both the new carcase height of 87.5cm and the stunning NX 950 ceramic fronts caught the eye of the international panel of experts and gained winning status. Introduced to increase design flexibility, the new 87.5cm carcase and reduced 5cm plinth height creates the additional benefit of increased storage space, making it easier to accommodate larger items. Equally, the new dimensions add an almost monolithic quality to this purist design. Open sesame! with Servo-Drive flex by Blum Built-in fridge/freezers can now also be elegantly concealed behind fronts in minimalist handleless kitchens. Blum's Servo-Drive flex opens handleless fronts at a single touch. If the door has been opened unintentionally the self-closing mechanism ensures that it closes automatically within a couple of seconds. This will prevent defrosting and food from spoiling. Servo-Drive flex also has a feature that stops the door from opening if the user just leans against it. The only prerequisite is that the refrigerators and freezers have been built into cabinets - they must not be stand-alone appliances. European Water Label launches new two-minute movie An excellent new advertising movie 'One Europe, One Label' has just been released by the Water Label Company.
The movie, specifically created to highlight what the Label is all about, where it's used and who supports it, will be seen across 34 countries of Europe and beyond, and is aimed at attracting more members and users. The Matki Boutique Walk-In range creates an understated, hotel-spa feel in a variety of bathroom spaces and a luxurious showering experience, showcasing the beauty of 8mm and 10mm solid safety glass with discreet yet highly-polished Chrome finishing. Liebherr has great success at Grand Designs Live London Liebherr has great success at this years' Grand Designs Live. From the 30th April to the 8th May at ExCel London, Liebherr showcased a plethora of appliance products with which visitors could interact. With over 500 exhibitors across seven sectors, there was a lot to see, but Liebherr stood out from the crowd with an impressive collection of refrigeration appliances and wine cabinets positioned prominently within the dedicated Kitchen and Bathroom section. HIB welcomes bathroom renovation popularity Popular bathroom brand, HiB has welcomed new market research which reveals that the bathroom is the most popular room for home improvements. According to a new study by The Tile Depot, (www.swns.com) UK bathrooms are now the most popular choice of home improvement, with nearly half (44%) of people choosing to renovate their bathroom. In comparison, the kitchen comes a close second with 42%, followed by the garden with 17%. Max-Top announces The Panelling Centre partnership Max-Top has announced the launch of its patented quartz surface in Ireland. The product will be distributed to kitchen installers and retailers by Grafton Group company The Panelling Centre, the supplier of kitchen and wardrobe components with branches in Dublin, County Dublin, Limerick, Galway and Cork. "Max-Top Quartz surfaces offer a whole host of benefits that will really suit installers in Ireland, from being ready for immediate sale and installation to the variety of decors available," says Stephen Moss, managing director of Max-Top. Shaws launches 'Florida' urinal Shaws has launched 'Florida', a heavy duty fireclay urinal suitable for both commercial and luxury applications, following an abundance of interest from the architectural, specifier and building trades.
Already commissioned for specific installations in some of the country's most prestigious buildings, the product is now being added to Shaws' commercial portfolio and will be available through Shaws' dealer partnerships and builders merchants.
