A press release issued by the organisers of KBB Birmingham echoes what we've been saying ourselves; that the show was a great success, there was a real air of optimism from exhibitors and visitors alike and those that decided not to support it this year, definitely missed out.
Managing Director Craig Rothwell told us that the stand had been "inundated with new business start-ups, keen to find out as much as possible about the industry and what's available to them to make their businesses as successful as possible."
And we thought we were supposed to be hovering on the brink of another recession...
Welcome to the
The Easter break was a typical one it seems. Far too much chocolate - and the weather changed for the worse (in the UK) improving just in time for the return to work as usual.
Oh well, at least the roads are quieter due to the school holidays… Or the high cost of fuel. Take your pick. Whichever it is, it won't last, the children will be back at school next week and we'll no doubt get used to fuel costing around £1.50 a litre (that's a whopping great £6.75 a gallon!)
So how does the high cost of fuel affect you? Obviously if it costs you more to get to the customer, you have to charge more, don't you? Or is that too dangerous for business these days? Have the higher fuel costs impacted on the way you work? Or do you just absorb the cost and try and find other ways to increase your income? Are fewer people visiting showrooms and opting to shop online instead? Or are they just not shopping at all?

Italy has long been revered as the fashion and style capital of the world, leading through innovative and passionate design. The fact that households in the UK are experimenting with new kitchen designs, appliances and colours more than ever meant that it was only a matter of time before we looked to our boot-shaped counterparts for inspiration - and then along came the exciting new Italian sink brand, Elleci.
"Elleci is already the number one sink designer, manufacturer and supplier of designer coloured sinks and taps in Italy, but it's also quickly becoming a market leader across the globe too," Marketing Manager Anthony Roberts told us.
Abode has developed and launched Triana - an elegant, patented, single lever Aquifier filter water tap, finished in both Chrome and Brushed Nickel. The tall, slender, sweeping swan neck spout and smooth, tapered body create a tap of modern day elegance.
The Triana has advanced water filtration technology and by a flick of the wrist, twisting the black ring on the stem of the tap allows clean, pure filtered water to run from a separate part of the spout. No extra handles are required. Hot and cold water are available as normal using the single lever.

The increasing demands of our customers and the ever difficult trading conditions of the global market, and in particular for Sally Zhongshan, the UK market; has meant that simply being a Chinese manufacturer, competing on price alone was not good enough.
