John Austen was lucky enough to attend the business aviation show in Las Vegas a few weeks back with a colleague who produces an e-zine for that industry. He posted a picture on Facebook, of him strapped into an aircraft seat, captioned something like: 'The nearest I'll ever get to flying on an executive jet'. I know the feeling... I was lucky enough to go on Concorde some years back. Sadly though, instead of witnessing the excitement of being whizzed through the sound barrier while sipping champagne, I was on board to examine what the cleaners had to do to bring that beautiful plane back up to standard before the next lot of wealthy passengers boarded. What made things worse was that I didn't even get to see how she looked immediately after the new arrivals had disembarked - the mucky stuff had been cleared away before I boarded so no dirt to dish on how the elite behave whilst flying! Naturally, I was more interested in the more private facilities on John's executive jet so asked him to get some pictures of the bathrooms... It made me wonder how many of you are involved in the manufacture or marketing of bathrooms for these jets? I often speak to designers and manufacturers about the difficulties they face and the ways they overcome them, when producing bathrooms for very small spaces, but supplying a bathroom for such a tiny space as is found on one of these jets must be an art in itself. And then of course, there's the fitting. Are any of you involved in this work? If you are, I'd love to hear from you. Yours,
